〈ムリウイ録音の記録〉
7月の頭にムリウイでソロの録音をしていただき、この1ヶ月間、聴き返してきました。後から聴くと自分とは関係ないところから出てきたもののようで、どうやって曲を書いて、どうしてこんな演奏になったのかわからなくて不思議な感覚になります。すごい確率で落ちてきて、そこに現れているもののようで、どういうわけかヤジロベエが綱渡りをしている様子がずっと頭に浮かんでいました。でもあの日あの空間で演奏したらこうなったということで、そんなに不安定なものではなさそうです。私だけから出てきたわけではなくて、ムリウイと呼応して生まれたものということ。
もうすぐ音は仕上がります。録って何もしていない状態ですでに良い音でしたが、そこからとても丁寧に、一曲一曲、一音一音と向き合って整音していただきました。早く聴いていもらいたい気持ち溢れますが、、もうしばらく…
At the beginning of July, I recorded solo at Muriwui, a beautiful cozy venue. Over the past month, I’ve been listening back to it. When I listen to it now, it feels as though it came from somewhere separate from myself. I don’t quite understand how I wrote the pieces or why the performance turned out the way it did. a strange feeling.. As if it dropped from somewhere and appeared by incredible chance. For some reason, I kept picturing a balancing toy teetering on a tightrope. And yet, it seems that it was simply the result of playing in that space on that day…so perhaps it’s not as unstable as it felt. It wasn’t something that came from purely within me. It was born in response to Muriwui, in response to everything that was happening there.
The sound editing is almost finished. Even without any mixing and mastering, it already sounded beautiful. But from there, it has been thoughtfully and respectfully refined… song by song… note by note.
I can’t wait to share it with you but just a little longer…til it will be released.
